Brazilian Lemonade — Whole limes and sweetened condensed milk, blitzed into something creamy and impossibly refreshing, a drinks · blender recipe from Pamela Herrera's Sunshine Kitchen

Ingredients

  • 4 juicy limes, washed well
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 6 tbsp sweetened condensed milk
  • 6 cups cold water, divided
  • Ice, to serve

Steps

  1. 1Trim the ends off the limes and cut each into 8 wedges. Do not peel.
  2. 2Add limes, sugar, and 3 cups cold water to a blender. Pulse 5 short times — no longer, or the pith turns bitter.
  3. 3Pour through a fine mesh strainer into a pitcher, pressing gently. Discard the solids.
  4. 4Stir in the condensed milk and remaining 3 cups water. Taste and add sugar if needed.
  5. 5Serve immediately over plenty of ice.
